Lawrence CALLAGHAN/CALLAHAN & Mary ? , of Cork had the following (known) child: Charles, b abt. 1860. Charles married Ellen BROOKS/BROOKES in the city of Cork in 1881. (His parents are both listed as dead by 1881.) Charles was a fisherman. They had the following children: Lawrence b 1881, Peter b 1883 (both in Cork), John b 1884, Mary Ellen b 1885, Catherine b 1888 and John b 1890. (All dates approximate, except for Larry & Peter.) The family moved to NYC around 1885 and settled on Washington Street. They were *very* poor. Charles died in 1892. I don't know where he's buried - I believe Calvary. Related surnames: JOHNSON, LYNCH, GLEASON Ellen married William COOGAN around 1896 and they moved to the Brooklyn Heights area. The children from this marriage: Johanna/Hannah b 1900 and Lillian b 1898. Ellen died in 1902 and is buried in Holy Cross.
