Joseph Edward LYNCH, b 1871 Dublin, moved to Darlington, Durhamshire in the late 1870s. He emigrated to Canada with his brother Patrick in 1885 - landing in Halifax. He married Emma WEST/POTTS in Canada abt. 1887. Don't know if they met on board ship or in Canada. Their children: Lucia b 1889 (Canada), Mary b 1893, Thomas b 1895, James b 1901, Emily b 1907 and Margaret b 1912. The family (with Patrick LYNCH in tow) went to Plymouth, Luzerne County, PA around 1891 and then on to Brooklyn around 1897. Rumor is Patrick LYNCH went to Australia.
