David McDevitt (b. abt. 1831)/ Mary Corey (b. abt. 1818): in NYC 1853-1856 and 1866-1888 David McDevitt married Mary Corey in 1853 at Old St. Patrick's Cathedral witnesses were James Corey and Sarah Corey.  All moved to West Rutland, VT by abt.1856.  David McDevitt and Mary Corey McDevitt returned to New York in 1866 and lived at 312 W. 44th St. until he returned to West Rutland, VT in 1888. David McDevitt was from Parish of Ardstra, County Tyrone, Ireland and Mary Corey was from Parish of Dromore, County Tyrone, Ireland. James Corey (b. abt 1836) in NYC 1853- 1856 James Corey is related to the above Mary Corey but is not son or brother.  He moved to West Rutland, VT abt 1856 at the same time as David McDevitt and Mary Corey.  Sarah Corey (b. abt  1820) Sister of James Corey, she does not appear in West Rutland records until 1900.  * In 1916, John H. Corey and Miss Mary Corey of NYC attended the funeral of James H. Corey son of James Corey.  I don't know who they are but clearly some of the family stayed in NYC when my branch moved to VT, but they kept in touch.  Ann aca4@ourfour.org
