According to an old family notebook: Moses SHIELDS, called "Moke", left Ireland ca 1830. Arrived in New York City and settled at 280 Mulberry Street where he lived until his death ca. 1867. I have no information on his wife or children other than one son, my great grandfather, Moses F. SHIELDS, born in NYC December 9, 1834, left NYC ca 1856, married Hannah E. CONLON, 10/31/1861, in Manchester, NH, died 6/12/1896 at Hurricane Island, Maine. I have been unable to find any confirming record of Moses (Moke) Shields in New York City and am seeking any and all possible information on him or related families. Thank you, Linda (Shields) Randall
