    1. [IRISH-NYC] HOLIHAN, SULLIVAN, O'DONNELL, FLOOD 1836+ in Bklyn
    2. Hi, My ancestor was Margaret Holihan (b. abt 1827) in Nova Scotia and arrived in Bklyn about 1836. She married first Lawrence HARROLD (1822-1848) and had one son James HARROLD (1846-1905). Then she married my ggg-grandfather, Patrick FLOOD and had 2 children John (1854-1901) & Catherine (1862-1899) who m. Henry LAKE. I have recently gained new information abt Margaret's HOLIHAN family. Her brother ( who very kindly left her $5,000 in his will ) was Thomas HOLIHAN (1806-1879), a contractor living at 283 Pacific St., Bklyn. A sister was also mentioned - Bridget O'Donnell (1815-?), who I have since discovered was first married to a Mr. SULLIVAN and had 2 girls - Bridget (b.1843) & Catherine (b.1845). A widowed Bridget then married Patrick O'DONNELL by 1850. Any one researching HOLIHAN (HOLAHAN, HOULIHAN) or FLOOD in Bklyn ? Does anyone have an ancestor born in Canada who traveled to NY before 1850 ? How did they arrive ? by ship ? overland ? Any ideas welcome, Kathy Then
