My grandfather, Edward MULLEN lived in all the boroughs BUT Queens. He was born in 1861 in County Armagh (or Co Tyrone, right on the border) and died on Staten Island in 1942. He emigrated in 1886, returned to Ireland after 1900 and then came back to New York City in 1907. Edward and his family lived in Brooklyn from 1919 - 1923/24. I believe he had a brother or cousin, Thomas MULLEN, who would have been older than your Thomas. There is a burial in the family plot of a Rose O'BRIEN who died at 1390 2nd Ave, NYC on Nov 2 1899 at age 24 years. Rose's parents were Thomas MULLEN and Mary (Lappin) Mullen, both born in Ireland.
