Try Holy Sepchelure Cemetery in West Orange New York....the Family History Center has micro filmed all the grave cards.....It was/is a cemetery for Catholics...many Irish from New York were buried there. I know you said "removed from the city" but have you tried Holy Cross in Brooklyn? Diane Kennedy
There is also a Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Orange, NJ near the city line with Newark. My ancestors emigrated to NYC in the early 1880's but by the early 1900s, they were in Newark, NJ. There was a large Irish population in the area known as the Ironbound. A good source of info on this area is www.virtualnewarknj.com.
