    2. Okay, I gave Isaac Abraham a try... This is what I guessed....He was a mason, lived at 141 Mulberry St. He arrived here in August 1839, on what looks like the ship___F Spade(?). He was a Native of Collon, County Louth. His parents seem to be a James or John and Grace Mague_lle. I agree the handwriting is bad, plus you have two different people entering what appears to be totally separate information and they are all jumbled up..I tried to stay with the same handwriting...hope this helps. I will try and look up your others a little later. Diane

    1. More on McKenna
    2. regarding: Ok...on Michael McKenna from the Test Books: Native of Dundalk, Ireland (which is in County Louth btw, just north of Dublin and is often referred to as El Paso up north because it is just south of the gerrymandered border).  Can't make out the next 2 words, but it looks like it says that he arrived in February of 1853 on the Liverpool from Liverpool.  Father is James, who is dead.  Mother is in Dundalk and her name is Margaret Bradley.  The rest I can't be certain 3 brothers it might mean. There's more to add to this: Looks like he has a brother James in New York, NY and a sister in Ireland called Margaret who's in her 20's and single. I'll try to get to the others tomorrow if you haven't had other help in the meantime. The Kelly looks to be from Lismore, Waterford though which is pretty neat to know. Rats....rats rats rats.....why why couldn't my ancestors be savers! Liz

The Griffith's Valuation and some other data is available HOWEVER when I request anything in the category of jpg, tiff, or other graphic, print or photo the site tells me that the information is unavailable. On Irish Origins all of this information is available, including maps, jpg's etc. Cathy

    1. Re: [IRISH-NYC]  Lookup Emigrant Savings Bank
    2. Hi Pat, I did not find a Rhody Kerwin, but did find 3 ROSANNA Murphy's in the time frame you mentioned 1.Roseanna Murphy (account# 117213) Date of transaction was June 13, 1856. Rosanna lived on Myrtle Street, in NYC. She was single and a domestic. She was from what looks like Kibroooy Parish in County Down, she arrived August 185?, on the ship "Francis _aye" (spelling is difficult) from Liverpool. Her father is Jas Murphy, mother Moly Short (?) 1 brother named Pat, it looks as if there is a sister but no name is given. In checking her ledger account Rosanna had $46.01. 2.Rosanna Murphy (account 50024) transaction Nov. 21862. She lived at 19 Madison St. in NYC. She was a domestic and single. Her date of birth is given as 1839. She arrived here in 1858, but no ship's name is given. Her father is John (perhaps James) Mother is Cath. McCormesky. She has 1 brother and two sisters. (no names are given 3. Rosanna M. Murphy (Account 58524) Transaction date April 16, 1867 her occupation is not readable...there is no other information. Hope one of these is a link! Diane

    2. I looked at the bank records and did find some names that might be my ancestors. However, when it came to reading the writing on the right-hand side of the image, it was ALWAYS unreadable--not blurred, just the style was so difference and the words small and run-together. Is anyone doing better with that?

    3. I'm so new to these sites I don't know where to go for the beginning of the conversations, but if someone wouldn't mind, I would like to request a lookup too. My great-grandfather Daniel Daly may be in the database. He immigrated to NYC around 1847. Thanks.
