The whole time during the Irish famine the British who controlled Ireland were exporting food of all types from Ireland while the irish citizens were starving to death in Ireland. Their lands were confiscated and the farmers were left to die with no food or shelter. jc

I highly recommend if you have a drop of Irish blood you read Paddy Chaeffskys (SP) book on Ireland. You can get it at Waldenbooks and it is and eye opener and a heart breaker. jd
