Roger, You asked "What is the "proved date" of a will?" As a former estate planning attorney, I would say the date the will becomes effective, which is the date it is executed, i.e. signed by the testator and two witnesses for a printed or typed will, and signed by the testator with or without witnesses for a holographic will (written entirely by the testator in his or her own handwriting). This follows English and American legal tradition. Michael O'Hearn ____________________________________________________________________________________ We won't tell.
