    2. Hi all, Just want to clarify - didn't mean to stir up any modern conflicts or emotions. That's certainly not my understanding of what Pat's list is intended to do. Nor do I wish retribution to fall upon innocent descendants. (I personally hope to be held blameless for the hardships imposed by my ancestor Niall upon a young Romano-Celt named Patrick.) Instead, I just wanted to provide some additional historical context for what was going on 1775-1787 as a backdrop to the very fine article sent in by Jean. Hi there I have just joined , I belong to an Irish Geneology site, but guys they never discuss things in quite the same light as you do. Being a descendent of Irish "rebels" transported to Australia I think I am going to like this site. Ah--war and politics. Makes us see where we really stand. there is a song entitled ""The Germans now, too, Have God on their Side." I just hope that we Americans don't forget why we fought a Revolution. Kathleen
