I have some Flynns that emigrated to MA and Rhode Island and I had the occasion to be in the Pittsfield MA area where they have a NARA office. I searched all the available Boston records and found there were not many and it was very disappointing. The years I was looking for were among the missing. If you check the FamilySearch.org website, you will find the Family History Library has films for Boston passenger lists for 1848-1891. I haven't checked these films so don't know if there are gaps but assume they are copies of the NARA films. The Suffolk County GenWeb site has some links for passenger lists. I haven't explored them and don't know how informative they are. http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ma/county/suffolk/passengerlists.html If they landed in NY in 1850, they didn't come in through Ellis Island which > didn't open till 1892. Castle Garden is probably the facility they came > through and they have a website at: > http://www.castlegarden.org/ > > > Is there a similar facility for the Port of Boston? > -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com
