    3. I admit to know nothing about IL genealogy but I know where I would start to find out about IL naturalization papers, the IL GenWeb site at: http://ilgenweb.net/ I'd also join an IL and a Chicago mailing list and ask questions about how people emigrated to Chicago, like through Canada, through NYC?? You can find lists at: http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ You will find people on both that are experienced with emigration to the Chicago area. In fact, there may be some on this list who can help now that we know more about what you are searching. If I were you I would check available naturalization records first and if they are available for the dates you are interested in, I'd start looking there. Another help might be to find Thomas' death cert which might give you some info. Was he in the 1920 census? Good luck. > I have my Grandmother's brother on the census 1900 &1910 saying Na and of > course the year is hard to see.
