    3. SNIPPET: For your information, Ireland West Airport Knock recently announced the introduction of Ireland's first scheduled transatlantic services with the low cost carrier flyglobespan. They will operate three services a week from Ireland West Airport Knock, Co. Mayo, to JFK Airport New York, commencing on 27 May 2007 and two services weekly to Boston Logan International Airport, commencing on 30 May 2007. While a comparatively new name to Ireland, flyglobespan is one of the industry's fastest growing airlines. These new Ireland West Knock airport services will mean that their website www.flyglobespan.com will be offering flights from 16 Irish and British airports to 29 worldwide destinations, stretching from Cape Town to Vancouver. These services will also be available through your local travel agent shops and tour operators. The introduction of these new routes addresses the strong market demand for transatlantic flights to, and from, Ireland West Airport Knock and will realise enormous benefits for travellers to the west, north-west and midlands region. Ireland West Airport Knock opened its doors for business over 20 years ago and served an estimated 621,000 passengers last year. The transatlantic services have the potential to bring an additional 50,000 passengers this year. The Airport currently has five scheduled flights to the UK, as well as a daily scheduled Aer Arann flight to Dublin and a wide range of European charter flights by Ireland's top tour operators.
