The late Derek BELL, harpist with the Chieftains, and Liam O CONCHUBHAIR created a book in 1999 called the "Traditional Songs of the North of Ireland." From the hills of Donegal to the Glens of Antrim, the airs and melodies reflect the rich but largely unknown musical tradition of the northern half of the island. Liam O Conchubhair, a singer and teacher of songs, and musician Derek Bell included the words, music and translations to many of the songs that are still sung as part of a vibrant oral tradition including "The Parting Glass" and "Blackberry Fair."
