    2. Our group stayed at Buswells and it got good reviews. (I only did week in Belfast so have no personal review of Buswells, but others were happy.) 3. Lillian - My sister and I stayed at Buswells in 2006, I believe it was just after the historic old hotel was refurbished and reopened. Unfortunately, the mattresses on our particular beds were so uncommonly hard that we were forced to pad them with extra blankets! We also had some problems with young people sitting on the steps out front under our window talking in what I would call the stairwell? (The stairwell magnified their voices.) Buswell's brunch was delicious, we didn't try the lounge, and the hotel IS perfectly located: a short walk to all the museums, shopping and the really lovely St. Stephen's Park. Be sure and visit the National Gallery with all the marvelous paintings and Kilmainham gaol (jail), the (permanent?) Wm. B. Yeats exhibit at the National Library, and the National Museum. We left some comments/suggestions behind on a card after checking out of Buswell's; maybe they have remedied those problems. You may need to request a fan at the front desk as you check in. Many hotels (and restaurants) in Ireland did not have air conditioning in the summer of 2006. Ireland was having a heat wave that year. We had better luck, sleep-wise, in the newer hotels and at Jury's Hotel, Ballsbridge, which was recommended to us by a lister, but it is not located in the center of Dublin. The beds were soft, the food was great and the entertainment in the evening fun, too. Of course, were were in HEAVEN visiting all of Ireland, despite a few inconveniences here and there. Apparently, the place to avoid accommodation-wise, is Dublin's Temple Bar area; it comes to life with multitudes of noisy young people after dark, per Rick Steves' guide-books, which are updated annually.
