Searching for my roots: Timothy Walsh married to Catherine Comerford, both born in Ireland (according to New York State Census); Timothy born approx 1827. Catherine born in 1830 (died Feb. 10, 1910, Syracuse, NY, St. Agnes Cemetery). Timothy & Catherine are my great-great grandparents. I would like to know the county/counties they were from. They moved to Syracuse, New York at some point; they are listed on the 1860 census there. At times Catherine is listed on the census as "Welch". They had seven children: Michael, Mary, Simon, Frank, John, Thomas, and Henry. Thomas became a doctor, earning his medical degree from the University of Albany Medical School in Albany, New York. Timothy's son, Henry is my great grandfather (b. 7/20/1860; died 11/8/1932 in Syracuse, NY) Henry's son, John Peter, is my grandfather (b. February, 1892; died 12/1/1939) John Peter's son, William Bryan, is my father (b.6/25/1923 died 11/2/1959). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have only one living Walsh relative, besides my son, and I would like to know more about my roots. I would also like to make another trip to Ireland someday but would like to do so knowing what county my ancestors were from. Thank you for your time.
