I am trying to trace my family roots in Ireland. My Great Grandfather, Michael Connor, and his wife ALICE ( PHAIR ), arrived in Manchester prior to 1843 - there is no marriage record for them in Manchester. Other than a record confirming that they came from Ireland, there is no note from where. With Connor being such a common name I feel that Alice Phair's name is possibly a route to try to discover where they originated from. Is there anyone who has researched the surname Phair who might be able to help me. Thanks in anticipation. Richard Connor
