Hi Everyone Have found my ancestors John Anderson and wife Elizabeth ne Murphy with two known children Thomas And Ann came to England in the mid to late 1840s and settled in Rotherham. Could anyone please point me in the right direction as were to start researching there marriage etc: have no idea of the location in Ireland. Thanks in advance Lorraine

Hello Lorraine I saw your post to the list and I see you're searching the Murphy family from Ireland. I am wondering if your Elizabeth had a brother John Murphy. I am not sure when My Murphy's came to England, John married Mary Welsh in Bradford 1859 they were both aged 20 yrs., all of their children were born in Goole Yorkshire, their daughter Julia was my grandmother she married Thomas Gibbons, the Gibbons family also came from Ireland. I would love to hear from you if our families are linked.
