Being new I hope I have chosen the correct Ireland Mailing List. The data I have so far from U.S. are from census records, an immigration record and one found at genealogybranches.com. and are not very accurate and conflict some what. Any information regarding this family when they lived in Ireland would be a wonderful help. I have only spent about a month now searching internet sites in Ireland and find there are dozens more to search. The name QUINN is common but McDEAD seems to be very rare. My Irish ancestors: BERNARD QUINN born between 1825 and 1831 Ireland Wife: SUSANNAH McDEAD born 3-17-1839 Ireland First child: THOMAS born 7-12-1852 Prescott, Ontario, Canada I do have their Canadian records, both census and baptism of their 13 children. / An immigration record shows a Bernard and Susan Quinn (with other members) leaving Londenberry to Pennsylvania, Quebec and New Brunswick in 1852. The tickets were purchased in May, 1852. Am not sure yet if this is our Quinn family. There was also an IGI for the marriage of Bernard Quin Aug. 4, 1843 and a Susan McDead Aug. 4, 1843. Again the dates appear too early but then the birth dates on the census are also out of line. That IGI record was not found at familysearch.org but from either genealogybranches or eneclann.ie. Have tried to relocate it but so far am lost in the web of links. Thank you for any help. Jan A. U.S.A. camelot2@citlink.net
