I'm posting this to two lists, hoping someone can give me some direction/ideas etc. I'm stumped. How do I go about finding a family, or cemetery records, in Ireland, especially one with a very common name? I know they were in Co. Tyrone. N. Ireland. I don't know what parish. I know approximately the year he emigrated - 1799, and about how old he was, 17, but my source has been wrong before.....Mr. Jordan's books. I know the emigrant's first and last name. William Peoples......but not his middle name. He died in America; left his young son with another farmer, and went west.......but I don't know where. So here I am unable to find this fellow's beginning or end. That's it. How do I proceed to find a family in Ireland? How do I find where he went? My guess was that his wife died.....I found him on an 1820 PA Fayette Co. census, with wife and 2 daughters, in 1827 he has his son, next thing I know he's gone, family is gone, and the son is left with another couple. Was there an epidemic? If anyone with some genealogy savvy can fill in some blanks here, I'd be truly grateful! amie
