You might try looking at the marriage indexes for Ireland in the period when you thought she married. With these indexes, it is possible to cross-reference the groom's name to the bride's. Byrne is a common name and has common variants: the names are not always spelled on records the way the family spelled them. The McGehan name is less common and may be easier to find. When you are looking in the marriage indexes, and you come across a McGehan marriage, note the Volume and Page and District for that marriage; then check the entries for the Byrnes for the same time and see if you can match same volume, page and district. When you have the right combination, you can order the photocopy of the register from Dublin for a small fee (I think last time I did this it cost one punt fifty pence Irish money.) This will give you the location of the marriage, the residence of the fathers of bride and groom, and - perhaps - the age of the parties to the marriage. Then you can look for her in the similar indexes for births. The birth record will give the mother's maiden name as well as the father's name and occupation and residence. The indexes can be ordered in from Salt Lake to any Family History Centre.
