Hi group, I've been doing family genealogy for a number of years but it's all been centered around the Philadelphia area. I have a couple of family leads of Irish roots but have not done any research in Ireland before and am looking for some pointers on how to get started. I have several families, but just picking one to start: Michael Sheridan born about 1810 in Ireland Margaret Sheridan (nee unknown) born about 1813 in Ireland Married in Ireland about 1828-1833 Had a son, Thomas, in Ireland around 1833. Came to US in 1833-1834 and settled, and remained, in the Philadelphia area. I have not seen any info that indicates what Co in Ireland they came from.
