In the introduction to her book THE FASSETT GENEALOGY by Katherine FASSETT SCHUSTER she write: "The immigrant ancestor of the Fassett Family was Patrick, who according to tradition, was descended from a family named Macpherson, refugees from Scotland, who fled to Ireland to escape religious persecution. To conceal their identity, they assumed the name Faset, sometimes spelled Fawcett and Fossett. Patrick came to this county with his wife Sarah, from Rock Fassett Castle in Ireland and settled in Lexington, Mass." Patrick died 7 Nov 1713 at the age of 85.
