    1. Resources in Ireland
    2. Hi listers, I just found out that some of my ancestors came from Ireland, I am going to be there this fall. I was wondering what resources are available in Ireland for genealogical research. Are there archives / census records / etc.? What is there? I would like to continue my research while I am in Europe. Thanks a ton! ~Michael Messinger~

    3. Get on line and find out as much as you can about where in Ireland they came from, and any other information you can obtain from the US census, family papers, etc. That way, you can focus your search in Ireland to a certain area and be more successful. I was able to find the house my grandfather lived in until he was 18 and meet a second cousin while there, but I had a great deal of information before going to Ireland, and a lot of help from Ireland natives while there. I also found his birth registration in church records held by a church minister, and that appointment was made ahead of schedule. Good luck! It is a beautiful country. ----- Original Message ----- From: <mmessinger@Macalester.edu> To: <IRELAND-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 02, 2005 2:02 AM Subject: [Irish-Roots] Resources in Ireland > Hi listers, > I just found out that some of my ancestors came from Ireland, I am going > to be there this fall.
