I am looking for information on how to find out the name of Anthony Gillespie's father. His mother was Catherine Gillespie (maiden name unknown) who emigrated with her husband and children in 1947, through the port of New York and to Pennsylvania coal country afterwards. Her husband and 2 or 3 sons are reported to have died on the ship. I find her in the census of 1850 with Anthony, Margaret, and another child or two. The only record of immigration that I have found at ancestry.com for Anthony Gillespie that would be close enough to match shows a Laurence Gillespie, and shows a baby being born on route, not any deaths.
