My gg grandmother, Catherine Byrne was born in Co Kildare c1820 and at the age of 19 was convicted of stealing bedclothes. She was tried on 3 June 1839 (any records of trials?) jailed in Dublin between June and August (records of incarceration?) and departed Dublin for Botany Bay on 18 Aug 1839 aboard the Minerva 2. I have been unable to find her roots in Co Kildare. Can any bright spark shed some light and advice please? Cheers janine Hinton South Australia
