I've even had a search done by Armagh with no luck, so I thought I would try this list to see if it is any more successful. The family were hawkers by trade and seemed to travel back and forth to Scotland from Ireland before finally settling in and around Blairgowrie in Perthshire. They sold linen and tweed from their packs which they peddled from door to door. Although some of them married into the Scots Travelling people they did not work the land ,make tinware or pearl fish. They were also settled in houses and did not live on the road as the Scots Travelling people did. I only mention this as information to anyone who can help. My gr gr gr grandparents were Daniel McKay b c1800 m Agnes Reilly in Ireland their children were :- Daniel McKay b1830 Armagh d 06/05/1899 Blairgowrie m Catherine McManus b 1830 Derry d 22/02/1891 Blairgowrie John McKay b 1820 Armagh m Agnes Bradley Ireland Edward McKay b 1831 Armagh d 15/02/1896 Dundee m Frances McManus 1850 Murthly Perthshire d 03/10/1909 Dundee Mary McKay b1832 Armagh m Edward O'neill Bradford England 26/12/1850 Frances and Catherine's mother Sarah Molloy b c1800 Ireland d11/05/1882 Blairgowrie. married Richard McKay b 1800 Armagh d 1897 Blairgowrie I think Richard may have been a cousin of Daniel McKay . All very confusing working out relationships between them Richard was a bit of a poet and I've seen him mentioned in Irish song books as the Antim Bard . He is reputed to have written Sweet Carnlough Bay and others . He and his wife had the following children :- Margaret b 1835 Armagh Felix b1838 Armagh m Jane Sturrock 09/05/1859 Blairgowrie d 03/02/1875 Auchtergaven Perthshire Peter McKay b 1845 Armagh m Jane Condell 31/05/1869 d11/03/1904 Blairgowrie Betsy McKay b 1841 Armagh Can anybody point me in right direction to place this family in a more exact location in Armagh. Living in hope . Mary in Scotland
