Cracker, thank you for your reply. On two of my gr. grn parents certificates it lists them as being born in "Golden, Tipperary". I have searched the maps I have, and they are fairly good ones and searched the internet with no luck. If anyone else as information on "Golden, Tipperary" I would appreciate it. Thank You.
The NEHGS finds 4 hits for Hugh Brady in it's db for Irish Immigrant Advertisements Placed in The Boston Pilot 1831-1920 . I am not a member and I can can only access 2 of them through the Godfrey site. Has someone got access to the other 2 hits? The ones I have are from sisters Anne in Hartford and Ellen in Del Co, PA. Thanks, Bill
Could someone provide the complete location of "Golden Tipperary" Thank you.

My Index to the Townlands and Towns, Parishes and Baronies of Ireland, 1851 does not seem to list Rockchapel, Cork, Irl. I think it is in Mallow, perhaps near Fermoy (per google). Can someone help with the specifics please? I am helping a cousin with their family research. Thanks, Pat __________________________________ Yahoo! Music Unlimited Access over 1 million songs. This is a great site! I was unfamiliar with it, as well! Thanks, Elizabeth
I am relatively new in searching for ancestors and while I subscribe to several lists this is a source I have not noted before IMMIGRATION RECORDS FROM CASTLE GARDEN Before Ellis Island, there was Castle Garden. The Castle was our first immigration center, from 1855 to 1890. But immigration records there go back to 1820. If you had ancestors who came over in that period, they may well have been processed at Castle Garden. Most of those immigration records have been digitized and placed online. Just enter the name. Check it out at: http://www.castlegarden.org
It is not an ignorant question, it is one I have asked and went looking for answers on and - I did follow this up recently, and this is what came to light about the leaving of Ireland for Liverpool. No records exist as such, because like today they simply hopped aboard a ferry bound for Liverpool, and received a small ticket, not holding any names. Because it wasnt deemed to need records from one ferry port to another within the boundaries of Ireland -UK. Sorry to bear this bad news- and I am simply only talking within the time frame that you have asked about, these days things of course are left to the mighty computer. Your second part that intrigues me is family of Fitzsimmons to mm's I guess you do look under the ones with one M as well ..........I surely hope so. And are you saying your family came from Co Down, my reasons for asking this is that there is two researchers looking for same name, WEXFORD and WICKLOW. so before I say more was hoping to clarify where you thought your family emerged from to Liverpool Cara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marc Fitzsimmons" <MFitzsimmons@esfweb.com> To: <IRELAND-ROOTS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 12, 2005 3:30 AM Subject: [Irish-Roots] Immigration from Ireland to Liverpool, England > Hello; > > > > This is probably an ignorant question, but are there immigration records > for people who immigrated to the Liverpool area from Ireland in the mid > to late 1800's? > > > > My Great Grandfather, Thomas Fitzsimmons (two "m"s), was born in Ireland > about 1859 and was living in Liverpool in 1886 when he married my Great > Grandmother, Frances Williamson. Hello; This is probably an ignorant question, but are there immigration records for people who immigrated to the Liverpool area from Ireland in the mid to late 1800's? My Great Grandfather, Thomas Fitzsimmons (two "m"s), was born in Ireland about 1859 and was living in Liverpool in 1886 when he married my Great Grandmother, Frances Williamson. I know his father was John Fitzsimmons because of the marriage certificate. I know Thomas Fitzsimmons was born in Ireland because of the 1891 census in Liverpool that listed Ireland as his birthplace. I've found a John Fitzsimons (one "m") and Isabella Carse married in the Presbyterian Church, Killyleagh, Down, Ireland in 1858 and a Thomas Fitzsimmons (one "m") christened in the Presbyterian Church, Killyleagh, Down, Ireland in 1859 with a John Fitzsimons (one "m") listed as the father. So, I can only narrow down the immigration to between 1859 and 1886. Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as any records of such an immigration? Thanks, Marc Fitzsimmons
Hi, Blarney was a village, in the parish of Garrycloyne, Barony of East Muskerry, County Cork. It is about 5 miles from Cork City. I have written letters and visited churches but did not find any info. I never did look at St. Mary's Shandon in Cork City. Cork City does not have any info on line and will not have it together for another 6-8 years. This may not be an area that you have info about. Blarney is where the castle is now and Blarney Woolen Mills. I guess it is still considered a village. Because some of your requests take me on to other sources, I am asking you to be patient as it takes time to see if the name exists in areas. I have not forgotten but as usual there is not enough hours in the day to complete everything in a hurry Cara
