Hello, I'm seeking help with my research on my FITZGIBBONS ancestors. My gggrandparents, Gerald and Mary FITZGIBBONS were from County Limerick. I do not know their dates of birth or death. I only know that one of their daughters, Margaret, married J. Patrick Fean (my ggrandparents) in Croom on 15 AUG 1856. Any information about the FITZGIBBONS or FEAN families would be so helpful and most appreciated. Thank you. Trudy (Fean) Smith Pennsylvania, USA

Hello Anita and List. This may help to narrow your search in Sligo. Griffith's Valuation was conducted in Sligo in 1858. It listed 158 heads of households named McLaughlin. but only two with the name of Lesnan. They were John in Emlaghfad civil parish, Emlaghnaghtan townland; and William in Toomour civil parish, Knocknacroy townland. Hope this helps, Tom O'Hare, Buffalo, New York, USA.
Dear All I wonder if anyone can help me? My husband's great grandmother was supposed to be a great niece to Lord Horatio Nelson. Her name was Horatia Bellini Nelson and she was born in Dublin in 1845 and died in London in 1935. My problem is connecting her to Lord Nelson. I need to know who her parents were. Many thanks in anticipation. Christine Woods

what is an ESB Account?---- http://www.genexchange.org/esb/index.cfm I should have explained what it was, sorry, I apologize to all! Barbara : ) Nancy explained it better than I could have: Dear Barbara: You have taken information from the GenExchange ESB database and posted it to the Irish NYC (Rootsweb) list. Please be aware that this is really not a good thing to do. The GenExchange is a copyrighted site. You certainly can extract the facts, but in this case you have used the copy and paste technique (instead of re-typing just the facts) and have also extracted the notes made by Monica Bennett verbatim. In addition, I do not see any credit given to the site (the GenExchange) as a source or information as to where the information originally comes from (the Emigrant Savings Bank Account Records, microfilm and manuscripts held by the NYPL, NYC). A better way to handle this is to refer people to the site directly for the information. It's wonderful that you found your relatives but please be careful about cutting and pasting materials from other sites and re-posting copyrighted material without permission. Particularly without citing your sources. If you have any further questions about this, please contact me off list. Best regards. Nancy. Nancy Coleman [email protected]
Hi List, I am new to this list and recently found I have family members that were from Ireland. I am new to doing genealogy in Ireland and was wondering if I could get some pointers on where to begin. All I have at this point is family member's names and approximate birth dates. I would like to obtain birth records and marriage records. How do I begin? Thank you in advance, Carol in Florida _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com

Hello Terrence, I am interested to know if the same would apply to a British subject?? My Grandmother was born in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1875 & according to family lore she obtained an American Pension in the late 1930s even though she was domiciled in England & had been from about the age of 4, I have had this from various fronts including the daughter of the son-in-law that arranged the said pension. I have asked some American folk & the answer is that it would be impossible, your input would be appreciated. Anita.
