Joy I have a subscription to Ancestry.Com but I'm not sure where you want me to look. I put his name in the Irish/United Kingdom records and came up negative. Maybe I was doing something wrong. Hi everyone: I am new to this mailing list. I am trying to find my ancestors but have no idea where to start looking. All I know is that my ggg grandfather "William HARRIS" came from Ireland (listed on his Philadelphia, PA USA census forms). I am estimating the time to be between 1811 (the year I believe he was married) and 1830. I have been unsuccessful in find him or his wife "Mary" on any ship lists. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Kim
athlone is in county west meath. about 27 miles from longford , near ballymahon and is on the river shannon.
Hi, Thanks for responding to my query. After I placed my query on the LIST, it suddenly occurred to me to go to one of the map sites on-line. On Expedia.Com I found Athlone. Then I went to the Int'l telephone book to see if there were any Corbin family listed there and there were, but since I didn't have the given name or an initial, it wouldn't show me the entire list of Corbin's. So-o-o-o, I'm hoping someone from that area may see my query and maybe do a look-up in the directory for me. My g-g-g-g-g-grandfather, Timothy Corbin and his wife Mary Annie Chase lived in Athlone. Their son, Ahijah Corbin came to America with Gen'l Howe during the American Revolution and it is this family I'm researching. Many thanks for your help and wish me luck. On the 1881 and 1891 censuses, her birthplace was stated as 'Ireland'! Just wanted to share my excitement!! Joy (Dean) (near Salisbury, Wiltshire, England)

Question to the list! Was the name Mahoney ever changed to Lynch as time went on in the Irish country? I have a Mahoney whose father was a Lynch and mother Halloran. When she grew to the age of marriage, her first marriage was to a Fitzpatrick, but her maiden name was Lynch, not Mahoney. Can someone help me in unstanding the names of old Ireland! Thank you kindly. Sincerely, Richie Old Fort, North Carolina

Dear List Where do I start without taking up much of your time. I have met my brick wall and banging my head against it for so many years... so leaving no stone unturned I am turning to this list for help... let me repeat that... H E L P!!! Here is what I have: Michael J. (John?) Sullivan b. Sept 1859 (Parents unknown) and I cannot locate his death certificate here in the USA. I know where he died but a Sullivan born on this date cannot be found in Montana death records. The closest one is 1851 with father; Michael Sullivan and mother; Catherine Collins. Wife: Jane Anne (Knott/Nott/Lott) Sullivan (Her father: John Lott/Knott/Nott from England) (Her mother: Brindlecomb from England and died at sea) Michael and Jane's first child born in Ireland was John ? Sullivan b. May 1882 In May 1882-Sept 1883 the three left Ireland (cannot locate ship or date of emigration) had their 2nd child in PA Sept 1883. What I would like to know is: The parents of Michael. Where/When Michael was born. Date Michael and Jane married. and if possible the real maiden name of Jane Anne. Absolutely anything is more than I have right now. Please email me [email protected] this way we won't hog the list. Most appreciative, ~Huz --=======7B635FFB=======--

I am a decendent of the Rev. Robert Morrison. He was the third son of Philip Morrison of Ahorey near Markethill Co. Armagh he was educated at Glasgow 1812 and the Associate Anti-Burgher Theological Hall, He was licensed to preach by the Markethill Anti-Burgher Presbytery in 1818 and ordained the Markethill Secession congregation on Sept. 1st 1819, he married in 1819 a daughter of William Moody, he was Moderator of the Secession Synod 1834-35 but, with his congregation, joined the General Assembly in 1845. He died at Sandy Hill, Tandrage on Aug. 31st 1860. I know Robert and Sarah Moody had 8 children, six of them were living... John Moody, DAvid Harbison , Philip James (my gg grandfather),Thomas, Sallie (wife of a Thomas Beckerstaff), and a Ann Morrison. Thomas stayed on the old homestead in County Armagh, and Ann moved to England. I was wondering if anyone on this list lives near Sandy Hill and can take a picture of their Robert and Sarahs grave for me. I would really appreciate it. ---Joy Mowery , Freeland Pennsylvania --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by MWISP]

Hello List I have recently discovered that my ggggrand parents were from Ireland. This is confirmed by the 1851 census but I don't where from. John and Jane Rodger married in Ireland and went to Liverpool. I don't know if their son Benjamin was born in Ireland or Liverpool. The 1851 census says Ireland the later census say Liverpool. He was Christened at SS Peter and Paul in Liverpool 1833 and by 1862 was using the name Rogers. John had died by 1851 and I don't know where they were living in 1841 to look. Can any one help me or suggest where to look? Carolyn -------------------- talk21 your FREE portable and private address on the net at http://www.talk21.com
I am researching my ancestor, Robert Henry DAVIS born in Donegal in 1865. His parents were Andrew and Ann (maiden name BUSTARD). They were married in Donegal Registry office in 1856. His father was John, her father was William. I know from his naturalization record that Robert emigrated to New York in 1869. He would have still been a small child, so probably with parents? Also, I would really like to find out what religion they were, since as far as I knew they were Catholic, but since Andrew and Ann were married in the Donegal Registry Office, probably they weren't. Any help would be appreciated.
I would be interested to hear from anyone whose Irish ancesters moved to St Helens, England during the famine (1840s/1850s). Thanks Tim
