Greetings to all I am anxious to learn more about Colonel John Bonham who resided at Ballintaggart. He was my great grandfather , and I think the county was Kildarte. Any response to this request would be most welcome. Warren F. Morris Port Elizabeth South Africa

This list is for folks with a Kilkenny connection, in the future I will do the other counties as I have chance. It is a long list! I found the following information in "The Irish Ancestor" publication Vol. 4, No. 2 for 1974 and thought it might be of help to someone. The list is from the parish records of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Halifax, N.S. St. Peter's started 1784 until 1830 and the later church is now called St. Mary's Basilica in Halifax. The list is much more extensive but I am only including Kilkenny entries here. It lists both the bridge & groom names as well as their parents and where they were from in most cases. 28 August 1817 Robert BONNET, of Kilmurray Co. Could someone with access to the Irish Marriage Index look for the following marriages for me. Michael MAHONEY to Bridget HEFFERMAN about 1879 Andrew BARRY to Bridget WELSH about 1892 Thanks
I am looking for information on how to find out the name of Anthony Gillespie's father. His mother was Catherine Gillespie (maiden name unknown) who emigrated with her husband and children in 1947, through the port of New York and to Pennsylvania coal country afterwards. Her husband and 2 or 3 sons are reported to have died on the ship. I find her in the census of 1850 with Anthony, Margaret, and another child or two. The only record of immigration that I have found at ancestry.com for Anthony Gillespie that would be close enough to match shows a Laurence Gillespie, and shows a baby being born on route, not any deaths. How can I find more information? Thnak you for any help on this...the family was from County Mayo and/or County Cork. Please help save the earth! click below http://rainforest.care2.com/welcome?w=606221098 love and peace, toni http://community.webtv.net/CalDreamer/TheresNoPlacelike

If you look at the roots web site I am sure I saw an Ireland newspaper list, which you might find helpful. The paper everyone seems to use in C. Down is the Belfast Newsletter, that is where we look to see if anyone we know has passed away. Sorry don't know the email address. Chris Mahoney wrote:Could someone tell me if a marriage in Ireland County Sligo or Roscommon would it be in the Irish Marriage Index? The marriage would have been around 1820? The partners names were Mark KILLORAN and Catherine CASEY. Of course, any marriages of the KILLORAN family found would also be welcome. Thank you for whatever help you can provide. I have them entering Canada through Grosse Isle around 1840. Again, thanks. I agree with you 100% on your assessment of the topic sent to the list. But, scam or not, topics of that nature are so far OFF TOPIC, in relationship to the purpose of the list, it should NEVER have been sent to the list. The individual has been removed from the list and has also been banned from getting back on the list or sending any kind of message to this list again ! Now, please, let's get back on topic, genealogy research, and forget the unfortunate incident that got into everybodys' inbin and let's have no further discussion of it on this list. Your cooperation is appreciated and all our efforts should be directed toward looking for our ancestors. Please try to understand my skepticism, but I really feel that this is a SCAM !!
I am researching the above names which originated from either Tipperary or Cork. The people I am looking for are Michael MAHONEY, son of William MAHONEY and Catherine DUNN was born about 1854 and married Bridget HEFFERMAN about 1871. Bridget was boun about 1851 and was the daughter of Michael HEFFERMAN and Catherine RYAN. They had a number of children before leaving for Queensland in the 1880s. My website covering these families has recently been updated. Take a look at http://cmahoney.orcon.net.nz/Australia/Mahoney.htm
Am researching an Andrew BARRY and his wife Bridget BARRy who either came from Tipperary or Cork but arrived in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia sometime in the 1880's. Both were born in the 1840's and married about 1861. My website covering this family has recently been updated. Take a look at http://cmahoney.orcon.net.nz/Australia/Barryevans.htm
