Is anyone researching the name Supple in Co. Cork? Margaret Supple born about 1863, father was William Supple and mother was Mary O'Sullivan. Would love to hear from you. Leaving for Ireland Wednesday. Rose
I am searching for Murray's and Murphy's in County Sligo around the beginning of the 1800's. My great-grandfather Martin Murphy died somewhere between 1835 and 1861. He had a son Patrick, born in 1810, a son Martin (birthdate unknown) and a son John B. born about 1835. My great-grandfather Henry Murray had a daughter Ann(a) who was born in 1835. Henry Murray died after that date and prior to 1861. Ann Murray and Patrick Murphy's marriage certificate lists Henry's occupation as "shoemaker". They were married in Manchester, England. I have a marriage certificate verifying that. I know nothing about the wives of these two great-grandfathers. I have done research myself in Sligo, but found nothing on them. Any help would be appreciated. Mary Murphy Owens Austin, TX USA
Hi List, I sent this message to the list yesterday and have not seen it come up so apologises if it has reached you but not me. I have two ancestors born in Ireland and are in England for the 1901 census. I can not find the towns of birth on an Irish Gazetteer, any help or suggestions would be most welcome. MARRACKON and DUNNEMINE. Cheers, Fran. Sydney, Australia.
Could anyone through some light on a Mary Brown born around 1867/68 in Ireland. Her Mother was a May Brown born 1838/9 in Ireland - she was Brown by marriage I think. Also Dennis Maloney born 1838/9 in Ireland - I found them on the 1881 census in Newchurch, Lancashire, England - I believe Dennis may have been married before he married May and could have some children by his first wife. May had Sarah, Catherine, James, William, Ann, John and Mary to Mr Brown all born in Ireland. Please help Stella ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, October 17, 2002 3:00 PM Subject: IRELAND-ROOTS-D Digest V02 #80
Hi everyone! My homepage URL is listed at the end of this post. So far I am researching 2 Irish surnames. As far as I know, they are from Northern Ireland. I'm not sure exactly where in Northern Ireland. The first name...BAIRD. I have my gg grandparents as John and Margaret BAIRD. They were both born in Ireland about 1845. I find them living on Prime (Ellsworth) Street in the 1880 Philadelphia, PA. census. According to 1900 Phila., PA. census info, widow Margaret, who's maiden name I don't know, came to the USA in 1867. My BAIRD family tree is as follows...I'm still looking through census images to find spouses and cousins. 1 John Baird 1845 - Unknown + Margaret ? 1845 - Unknown ... 2 Thomas Baird 1871 - ... 2 Annie Baird 1872 - ... 2 Margaret Baird 1874 - ....... +Frederick Kircher 1875 - ........ 3 Mary Kircher 1900 - ........ 3 Margaret Kircher 1902 - ............ +Louis Moore ........ 3 Frederick Kircher 1904 - ........ 3 Anna Kircher 1906 - ............ +William Bowen ........ 3 John Kircher 1908 - ............ +Cassy Beatty ........ 3 Catherine Kircher 1910 - ............ +John / Jake Cusack ........ 3 Louis Robert Kircher 1913 - 1982 ............ +Ella Margaret Jordan 1919 - ... 2 Robert Baird 1877 - ... 2 Martha Baird 1878 - The 2nd family is JORDAN. The 1880 Philadelphia census is the only census I found so far on him and his wife Josephine. Thomas was born in Ireland about 1835 and his wife Josephine was born in PA. about 1857. Both of my gg grandparents had died before 1900 while 2 of their children were still pretty young. I find most of the children living with Josephine's mother Matie RICKERTON/RICHARDSON (writing is hard to understand) at 316 Oregon Avenue. My JORDAN family tree is as follows... 1 Thomas Jordan 1835 according to 1880 Phila., PA. census .. +Josephine Richardson/Rickerton 1853 according to 1880 Phila.,PA. census... 2 Florence Jordan 1873 - ....... +Joseph McClellan 1875 - Unknown ... *2nd Husband of Florence Jordan: ....... +? Hi everyone, I am researching my Irish roots and have come to a blank wall back around 1840 in Manchester. My Great Grandparents, Michael (1811) and Alice Connor (1815), came from Ireland to Manchester and based on the 1861 census, they were born approximately in years shown in brackets. There is no marriage record in the English indexes so assume they were married in Ireland - but where? I appreciate that 'Connor' is a very common surname in Ireland but Alice's mainden name PHAIR is very uncommon. Is there anyone out there who might know something about Alice Phair? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Richard Connor. Stonehaven, NE Scotland.

Hi I am trying to find my roots in Ireland can some SKS please do a lookup for me? I searced the 1901 census in Uk and found my grandmother aged 2 years (ROSE ANN MALONEY) Lliving with her mother (MARY MALONEY) a widow aged 34 years at 3 Moss Street, Bolton. Mary was born in Ireland. Unfoturnately I don't know where. When Rose Ann Maloney married my grandfather in 1917 she listed her father as Louis Maloney - deceased - occupation Private SMB (florist master). So I worked it out that LOUIS MALONEY must have died in the first world war. MARY MALONEY was born around 1868 in Ireland. Louis and Mary probably married in Ireland. I guess they must have been Roman Catholics as I am and my father was. I know Rose Ann Maloney had two brothers - Louis and Tommy and two sisters Nellie and Tilly. I don't know their ages or where they were born or even if they were all to Louis Maloney or not. Any help in tracing would be amazing - thanks in advance Stella
