According to subsequent United States census information, my Sarah Dugan was born between 1830 and 1832 in Ireland. I find her married in 1850 in the U.S.A. in the state of Ohio, in Perry County to William Boal or Boals and misspelled in the marriage index as Bowles (himself a grandson of Irish immigrant Archibald Boal). The family would subsequently move among Perry, Hocking and Athens Counties in Ohio. Unfortunately, she died before 1870, when my great grandfather -her youngest son-was small, and before death certificates were kept in Ohio. By the time my great grandfather died in 1950, he and his children had had no idea about the parentage of Sarah Dugan. I don't know when she migrated to the United States, only that she was there by 1850, marrying my second great grandfather. I haven't been able to find census records of anyone surnamed Dugan near the newlyweds in that 1850 census, or even near the in-law Boal family. I don't know if she came over as a child, with or without parents, I don't know if she came over with a remarried mother, I don't know if she came over during the potato famine, by her self. Looking at a series of five books that list passenger lists of ships from Ireland to New York City during the potato famine, I did find a Sarah Dugan on a ship sailing from Belfast, the Nelson-Village in May 1848 that lists her as 18 years of age, which would match up with subsequent age listings in U.S.A. census info recorded in 1850 and 1860. This interests me because, another lady named Dugan married William Boal's BROTHER and she had been born in New York City around 1830. This lady could be a cousin to Sarah?(I've been able to verify that she isn't Sarah's sister). Are there books that list passengers of ships leaving Ireland with ages and dates of departure? How can I find records of births in Ireland between 1830 and 1832, to search for Sarah Dugan? Please e-mail me at [email protected]

Dear Beryl, I don't have a marriage certificate for Sarah Clements I just have a copy of her death certificate. Her first child was born in 1817 so she was married abt that time. She was born in 1800 so she was abt sixteen when she married. I can not fine any thing more on her. Wished I could. Phyllis
Hello everyone. I have recieved so many requests for the look up and it has been great. I have a couple people that have requested info. from me and I haven't been able to get to them yet. I promise I will. We have had a family emergency and as soon as things settle down I will get those requests done. I am sorry it is taking so long. Thanks for your patience. Debbie Duncan
Hi Barbara, Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you on that, as I have only just made the discovery on the marriage of Horatio Nelson CUDMORE EGGERS to Jane Hannah CURRY in 1846. I am only just starting to look at this family now ! Sorry about that ! I hope that you find an answer soon. Perhaps the LDS copies of the Irish marriage indexes would help you ? Hi Nick, I saw your question on [email protected] and wondered if you have any known relatives of your Curry family named Elizabeth (or Eliza). I have Eliza Curry married to a James Donnelly in Ireland. One of their children's name was William James Donnelly born Apr 20 1856, Ireland. I haven't been able to find the location in Ireland and try all of the leads that come up. Barbara

HI all! I would like to find where my #4 g/gf came from. Peter Young B Ireland (some where) in 1749 and came to the USA around 1766 to Rowan Co., NC. He is my dead end. Some one told me where most of the Young's came from (co.) in Ireland but I lost the E mail. Thanks for any help! Roland Young Clovis, Ca.
Robert: Thank you so much!! Now I have something to go on. I had no idea where in Ireland my clan came from other than Antrim. Now I will be able to half intelligently start with Evishcrow. I really appreciate your help as I was really up against a brick wall with my MARK family. Thank you again. Joyce
Hello listers: I had a relative living in Evishcrow, NI. Would anyone know if this place is still in existence, and if it is, where it is? Robert McKane was born there in 1823. I have a hunch that it was in Antrim County. Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated. Thank you. Joyce
