    1. [IRL~ROOTS] Louis Maloney

    3. Could sks please do a lookup for me? I think I found my ggranddad LOUIS MALONEY. He died in the first world war (I think but I need to establish the link with gran) aged 37 on 29.6.1916. What I know - On grans marriage certificate Louis is down as deceased which ties in with the above. I know they originally come from Ireland and think it was in Wicklow (remember dad saying Wicklow). I know Rose Maloney had two brother named Louis and Tommy and two sisters named Tilly and Nellie. What I need to know is where Louis Maloney (GGF) was born (around 1869) - who did he marry and where they lived. Also if I could establish any of the children relating to Louis. Please Help Thanks Stella

    3. HI BERYL, Thank you very much for your reply. My e-mail address should be working, as I have it on at various times of the day. Maybe it is because I'm a bit far away from you, but it should be in operation at all times. It is pleasing to receive your reply so quickly, and once again -- Thank you very much. N. GUTHRIE

    3. Dear Beryl - I am not familiar with Atrim look up - Vol 17 Gravestone Inscriptions. Does it go by county - anything from Mayo County (Bangor Erris), or Kerry County (Dingle Peninsula) that you might have time to check for me? Thank you in advance for your kindness. 3. I live in England and am searching my grandmothers family her name was Rose Ann Maloney and I think she was born in 1899 as she was 18 when she married my grandfather Jean Joseph in Newport - Monmouth and Newport CB in 1917. Her father was Named Louis Maloney and was deceased at the time of her marriage. In 1919 she gave birth to my father Richard Karl Theodore Joseph and informant on the birth certificate was Matilda Maloney of 39 Commerical Road, Newport. I think Rose and Jean Joseph lived there at the time of his birth - I think Matilda may have been her sister Tilly. I know Rose had at least two brothers Louis and Tommy and two sisters Nellie and Tilly. I traced Rose Ann Maloney on the 1901 census and found her age 2 years of age living at 3 Moss Street, Bolton - with her mother Mary Maloney a widow born in Ireland aged 34 years. So I assume that Louis Maloney was also Irish and may have died in the first world war as he was a Private SMB (Florist Master ) (whatever that means). But I am quite stuck as all are deceased and I can't get any more information. I wonder if you have any of my Maloney people listed and could throw some light on my ancestors. 3. Hi I am trying to find out where in Ireland the family came from. James Behan was born on April 23, 1838 to Micheal Behan and Margueriter ( not sure of the last name, but some one has it as Moffat ) He came over to Philidialipia in 1842 and ended up in Ontario, Canada in 1860. I have found other information on James Behan, but nothing on Micheal Behan and Margueriter. Sheila Behan >

    2. To the list: Looking for some location in Co. Tyrone where there was a family named "Grimsby" in the mid 1800s.My great grandmother was Lilly Ann Rea(?) Grimsby born 1820 , of William Grimsby and Mary Ann Rea(Ray). Her tombstone says "native of Armagh", but there is little trace of "Grimsby" in Co. Armagh. She emigrated to Canada by 1848, married George Clark, and I have the story from there.Grimsbys may have been Methodists, Rays were probably Presbyterians or dissenters.
