    1. [IRL~ROOTS] ACCESS TO THE TORONTO STAR NEWSPAPER ARCHIVES
    2. Charlene Herbert
    3. Thanks to a fellow researcher on the Notts list, she has passed on a site for the newspaper The Toronto Star. For the next approximately 10-14 days you can search FREE OF CHARGE all their newspaper articles for the year 1945!! BUT, anytime you can access the indexes of all editions from 1892 to 1999. I used it last night, had minimal hits for what I was looking for in the year 1945 but I had over 100 hits for the family names I was researching for other years. I paid $5.00 for 5 hours and was able to print off very legibly all info I needed. THE SITE IS www.thestar.com Hope this helps someone. charlene in Ontario. searching for Schnurr, Schumacher, Keller, Chmielowiec, Jadzinski, Wojcick, Sowa, Crocock, Riddell, Shannahan, Herbert(from wales)

    1. [IRL~ROOTS] CARMODY KEENAN WARD FLANAGAN
    2. Michael Carmody
    3. I am researching the Peter CARMODY, born 1812 or 1813 and Bridget FLANAGAN family from County Clare. They were married circa 1836 and had 6 or 7 children born in Ireland before they came to the USA in 1849 or 1850. The children were Michael, John, James, Bridget, Peter, Thomas and maybe Margaret. I do not know where they were in County Clare. Also researching a James KEENAN who married Julia WARD. James was born circa 1818, maybe County Louth. He married Julia in Ireland circa 1839. They came to the USA 1840. Just thought I would post again. 1. [IRL~ROOTS] McKENDRY / McHENRY, County Antrim (possibly Culfeightrin)
    2. Challenge Press
    3. Hello everyone, I'm trying to find out something about the family of William McKENDRY or McHENRY, married to Ellen McVEY / McVEIGH. Their son John was born about 1833 in County Antrim and migrated to Australia with wife Martha ROBINSON / ROBERTSON and young son James (born about 1857, County Antrim). They arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia, in April 1859 (aboard the Hamilla Mitchell) and later moved to Victoria. They were Presbyterian (in Aus, anyway) and John was a miner. The name shows up as McKENDRY, McKINDRY, McHENDRY and McHENRY in early Aus records, but settled down to plain old McHENRY later. I've been told that McKENDRY and McHENRY are interchangeable in Antrim and that there were quite a few families of the name in the Culfeightrin-Ramoan area. I have lots of information on the family in Aus (which I'm more than happy to share), but their life in Ireland is a complete mystery. I wonder if John had any siblings who might have descendants still in the area? Thanks, Loretta Melbourne, Australia
