I am researching John Paterson who married Agnes Shields in Belfast on August 12, 1857. Agnes's parents are Robert Shields and Mary Scott. John and Agnes lived in scotland after being married. Have found no record in Ireland of their marriage, but do not know what parish they would have been in. Got the marriage date off the birth certificate of my G.G.Grandfather b. in Scotland.
