Hi to you all, Although I am 5th generation from the original Irish, in my childhood days I can remember ( I am only in my late 60's) often having corned beef with cabbage, and potatoes. It seemed a natural part of our weekly menu.... which lasted for several days as leftovers... Fritters, fried, in various concoctions Mother dreamed up. May be this pattern derived from our OWENS from Meath and FIGGINS from ??, carried down the line ? We must try it again, here in rainy, at the moment, New South Wales in beautiful Australia.
