    1. Re: [ROLL CALL] FW: Phelan family Kilkenny
    2. Jack, It appears reading the script on the stone that Margaret Phelan passed on and that either her husband Kieran remarried and is buried elsewhere or possibly was buried after his wife with no funds to have his name placed on the stone. Wife Margaret Bergin. Their grave at Graine reads; SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF MARGARET PHELAN (ALIAS BERGIN) THE BELOVED WIFE OF KIERAN PHELAN OF GORESGROVE WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE 29TH AUGUST 1879 AGED 47 YEARS AND ALSO 4 CHILDREN WHO DIED YOUNG. A bit ambiguous as it isn't entirely clear to whom the dates refer! They lived near Kilkenny/Tip. border nr Urlingford in the townland of Sragh. Children: Anastasia M. Dunphy, Dan, Michael, Ellen M. James Arthur Cantwell, Girl M. Cahill, William, Paddy b. 1863 M. Mary Shanahan [my grandparents]. Children Kieran, Margaret,Hanah,Anastasia,William,Mary,Paddy,Michael, Dan, Bridie and Nellie. The family of Paddy lived at Sragh in the parish of Tubridbrittain-my cousin Paddy Phelan still lives there. Burials are at Graine church. Would like to know if they appear in any tithe applotments or census details. Also are there any church records, burial marriage or christening for that parish...they were RC. Any info. gratefully received...Jim Phelan ==== IRELAND-ROLL-CALLS Mailing List ==== Welcome to the Ireland Roll Calls Mailing List Search the list's archives: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/ireland-roll-calls
