I am looking for information on the Gillick family from County Meath/County Westmeath. Terrence Gillick born 1 Jan 1837, his sister Julia born Oct 1820, and brother Owen b. abt 1830. Terrence left Ireland in 1855 arriving in Boston � no records remain. No records found in the US yield any clues to their home town. Known facts: According to his sister�s marriage record the parents were named Charles and Mary. Terrence corresponded with two cousins in Ratoath: Eliza and Ross. Two sisters are found there in 1909: Eliza and Catherine, but no connection has been made. They may be the children of James Gillick and Anne Farrell. James Gillick m. Elizabeth Murphy are also found in Ratoath with a son Terrence, but this is not the correct person. A Terrence Gillick is listed in Dunshaughlin but is born in 1858 which is too late. The Meath Heritage Center was unable to locate Terrence in their records. The County Cavan Heritage Center was unable to locate Terrence in their records. The Westmeath Heritage Center found a Terrence Gillick b. 1835 born to Phillip Gillick and Rose Glennon, but no records for his siblings � it appears it is the wrong individual. Terrence married Margaret Ann McGee 2 May 1865 in Amador County, California, and they had the following children: Thomas James Gillick Owen Eugene Gillick William Gillick Emmet Gillick Julia A. Gillick Mary Gillick George. L. Gillick Andy Gillick Sarah Rose Gillick Charles Cornelius Gillick John Gillick Charlotte L. Gillick Nellie Gillick Terrence�s brother Owen�s war record states he was from Mayne, Ireland, but a search through Eneclann didn�t find the family in Dunboyne, or the parish of Dunshaughlin. Oldcastle was checked as well with no records found. Terrence died in California 12 Feb 1906. His sister Julia died in Chicago in 1907. I am truly at the end of line and hope someone might recognize this family. Sandy California
