    3. Searching for information leading to the CLEARY/O'MALLEY family in 1800s located in Glencullin County Mayo, IRE. (area is Kiltane/Kilcommon/Belmullet R.C. Parishes) If any of the following are your ancestors, I would appreciate hearing from you. In 2004, Mayo North Family Heritage Center provided the following assessment for the siblings of a JOHN CLEARY AND WINIFRED O'MALLEY. (Baptisms for the siblings were found in Bangor, Kiltane, Doolough, Geesala, & Glencullen in the Kiltane/Kilcommon R.C. parish, County Mayo, IRE.) Information supplied by Mayo North Family Heritage Center database 185??-WINIFRED O'MALLEY & JOHN CLEARY - no marriage record, 1856 Griffiths Evaluation of tenements lists JOHN CLEARY as a resident Glencullen Upper? - a number of Cleary occupiers. ARE THE FOLLOWING the siblings/nieces/nephews of WINIFRED & JOHN CLEARY?---- 1855-ANTHONY CLEARY, Glencullen bap. 29 Aug 1855, Aughoose/Bangor R.C. bap reg. vol. 1, p.6, sponsors Anthony Cleary & Mary Cleary 1855-BRIDGET CLEARY, Glencullen bap. 29 Aug 1855, Kiltane R.C. bap. reg. vol. 1, p.17, sponsors Patrick Conway & Bridget Malley. 1857-MARY CLEARY, Glencullen Top, bap. 31 May 1857, Aughoose/Bangor R.C. bap. reg. vol.1, p.11, sponsors Edward Gaughan & Sabina McAndrew 1863-PATRICK CLEARY, Glencullen, bap. 26 Apr 1863, Kiltane R.C. bap. reg. vol. 1, p. 27, sponsors James Maughan & Mary Maughan. It is believed that Winifred O'Malley is a sister to John O'Malley who married Honor Cormack in 1873. My Grandfather John & Grandmother Honor Cormack O'Malley migrated to U. S. sometime in 1870s. They appeared in the 1880 census in Ogden town, Riley County, Kansas, U.S.A. There were O'Mealey's(sp?) residing in this KS area as early as 1850s. 1850-JOHN O'MALY, Belmullet, son of John O'Maly and Bessy Clynes, baptized on the 22nd of November, 1850, sponsors were Edward Curran & Jane Lynes. Belmullet R.C. bap. vol. 1, p. 70 My Grandfather JOHN O'MALLEY obit states his birth as 24 June 1847, Portscomouth, Co. Mayo,Belmullet R.C. bap. vol. 1, p. 70 (To date Portscomouth is non-existent - any ideas?) Known information is: 1873-JOHN O'MALLY, married on the 9th of February, 1873, HONOR CORMACK. Witnesses John Reilly & Honor Reilly (Kiltane R.C. Parish, County Mayo, IRE, mar. reg. vol. 1, p.254.) - this is just a handwritten line in a registry book gives no parent names or place of marriage. 1800-Parents of HONOR CORMACK & JOHN O'MALLEY is UNKNOWN (would be my G-Grandparents) - Following are names of their children handed down word-of-mouth. James O'Malley see below listed children, Dan O'Malley, Winifred O'Malley married a Cleary, Katherine O'Malley married a Thompson?, John O'Malley - born ~ 1850 married a Cormack, & Dora Deane O'Malley, & there may have been an Edward O'Malley also. JAMES O'MALLEY & Ellen Cormack bap. 20 Jun 1881, reg. as being born 1 July 1881 Kiltane R.C. bap. Reg. vol. 1, p. 173, sponsors Thomas Barrett & Catherine Barrett 1883-JOHN O"MALLEY, Doolough, son of JAMES O'MALLEY & ELLEN CORMACK, bap. 14 Oct.1883, Geesala R.C. bap. Reg. vol. 1, p. 2, sponsors Thomas Barrett & Rose Barrett. Would the father of these two children(JAMES O"MALLEY) be the brother of JOHN O"MALLEY? Hope to hear from someone out there.
