    1. Re:Roll Call Craven / Murray
    2. Hi all, I'm searching my CRAVEN Family. They are supposedly from Roscommon Co...Because so many are from that area. However my grandmother had always said they were from Antrim Co..Anyway,here is all I have which isn't much. James Craven was born about 1835.He married Catharine Murray about 1860 or 61 They went to England as their first born was John Craven born abt. 1862Their second born was James Craven born abt.1864.They then emigrated to New York showing up in the 1880census( name spelled on census Cravin) for Long Island City,Queens County, where they have had already another six children, all being born in New York. Michael Craven b/1867,Nicholas Craven b/1871,William Craven b/1876,Mary C. Craven b/1878,Peter Joseph Craven (my grandfather) born Jan 1,1880.In between somewhere there is supposedly a Thomas that was born. But I don't know for sure. When finding the locations of the Craven name in Ireland it shows heaviest concentration in Roscommon area and 2 families from Antrim area.I know that James Craven had brothers but I have no idea of their names.I believe he died(James) about the late 1890's or so.But he is supposed to have come back to Ireland and died there. My father, born 10/14/1912,the son of Peter Craven & Margaret McKeegan never knew his grandfather,as I understand that he was already dead. And all of my fathers brothers and one sister are also gone, excepting one brother that is in his 90's and doesn't recall anything. So,sorry if this is long winded but if anyone has any knowledge or thoughts it would be greatly appreciated. Denise
