Hi, Cathy, We have a John Kinsella who came to Scranton, PA, of Irish heritage, but maybe in England a number of years while they tried to get to America. Very illusive and we have several different birth years for him from the few records that we have but 1856 may be close to the right birth year. Hi! According to family information, Joseph A. Sullivan was born in Scranton, PA in 1871. I found the birth records in Scranton from that time period next to unavailable...possibly due to a fire or some other catastrophe. Realizing that the surname KINSELLA would be a lot easier to locate than SULLIVAN, is there is any way to find my grandfather's birth (or baptismal) record as you did for John Kinsella? Joseph's family was from County Kerry, Ireland; his parents, John and Mary (O'Connor) SULLIVAN, and their three older children - all new immigrants to the United States. Joseph was the first native born American in his family. Thank you for your consideration.
