Looking for Irish roots of JOHN MONAGHAN born Oct 1835. He came to the States sometime between 1880-1882 and filed a Certificate of Intent for citizenship on 18 Nov 1887. Also looking for his wife MARY GILL. I have no data on her except that she was married to John in Ireland. They came to the States with their two children - Thomas and Patrick and settled in New Jersey. Family stories indicate they came from Westmeath (possibly Castlepollard), but have nothing to substantiate it.Thomas Monaghan is my wife's grandfather. Do these names strike a bell with anyone? We have fairly complete data on the family after arrival in the States but have been unable to find any ship/arrival data or where they came from in Ireland.
