Clear DayResearching Michael COUGHLAN b Crookhaven C Cork april 1821. Michael joined Merchant Navy when he was l5 old with the rank of 'Boy' At 22 old he joined Royal Navy. His first ship was HMS Howe until 27 July 1843 He served in a number of RN ship until 26 June 1848 when he joined the Coastguard at Lepe. He served in a number stations until he retired. He was ticketed in 1845. I am trying to identify his parents in Crookhaven because he always gave Crookhaven as his leave destination in the Merchant Navy. Regards, Max Coughlan, Newcastle, Australia
