Looking for any information I can find on Laurence RYAN or Mary MCCLOUD. I have contradictory information as to Laurence being born in Ireland or the United States, but I'm concentrating on Ireland, as that seems most likely. Mary MCCLOUD was born in Ireland. I suspect that her name might have been Mary Ellen, as Nellie named her firstborn daughter Mary Ellen, and on one of the US census records, Nellie's name is listed as Ellen M. (I have other family members that went by their middle name and it was recorded on the census that way, so I'm just keeping open to the possibility in my search process.) Laurence RYAN and Mary MCCLOUD would have been born abt 1830's. Parents names and place of birth is not known for either of them. My great grandmother, Nellie (Ellen or Mary Ellen) was born in Ohio in 1860, the month of June from what I have been able to find. The one thing that remains consistent is that the family did live in Illinois at some point. I have a family that might be them on the 1870 US Census in Illinois. Nellie married in Cincinnati in November of 1880, so at some point, she returned to her state of birth for whatever reason. She relocated to New York City soon after her marriage.
