Greetings: I am researching Acel LEACH (1849 -1918) of the Noble & Monroe county areas of southeastern, Ohio. His parents were William LEACH and Susan MAHONY. William LEACH and first wife, Esther Elizabeth Mitchell, both from Maryland, are thought to have emigrated from Ireland. Acel married Harriet LEEK (1850 -1900) and had eight children, including Samuel, Fred, Cole, Walter, Charlie, Alice, Stella, and William. Samuel LEACH (1870-1964) married Angelica CARPENTER (1871-1935) and they had the following children: Acel, Pete, Arch, John, Bill, Lloyd, Kate, Jenny, Harriet, Gail, Barney and Ellis. Acel LEACH (1892-1976) married Rebecca CARPENTER (1896-1977). This LEACH family also married into the STEPHEN and HANNAHS families of the same area.
