I'm joining in again today to see if I have better luck on St. Patrick's Day. I've tried before with no luck, but hope springs eternal. I'm trying to find my great-grandparents, John James SLOWEY (b. Ireland 1841), and Bridget Elizabeth DAVIDSON (b. Ireland 22 June 1842). She was the daughter of John DAVIDSON (b. England about 1805) and Elizabeth CLINE (b. Ireland about 1815-1820). This Elizabeth was the daughter of ???? CLINE and Elizabeth GALLAGHER. We believe that all of these folks were from the north of Ireland, and we think they were probably from County Monaghan We've tried all the usual sources (Griffith's, census records) with no success. Can anyone suggest another line of inquiry? If there had been such a thing as the witness protection program at this time, we'd think our folks were part of it!! Thank you.
