    1. [IRELAND-ROLL-CALLS] HOPKINS/KEARNEY (CARNEY)
    2. Hi listers, Been researching over thirty years. My paternal line: My father, Michael HOPKINS, was born 1902 in Crimlin townland, Turlough Civil Parish County Mayo. Emigrated to New York City in 1923. I have info on my great grandfather, Farrell HOPKINS, nothing on his wife, Mary KEARNEY (CARNEY), except the marriage (02 Feb 1854) and birth records of their children, Michael (my grandfather. born 20 Sep 1857), Bridget (31 Dec 1854; married Patrick Jennings on 21 Jan 1883 in Crimlin) and Honora (23 Nov 1859; married John Fahey 17 Mar 1896 in Crimlin). I am looking for info on the KEARNEY (CARNEY) family. My Irish cousins have not been able to help me because the KEARNEY (CARNEY) family was moved to another area of the country courtesy of the British government in the early 1900's. The government had offered to move many families from the area because the land was/is not very fertile for farming. My grandfather opted to stay. There was a Patrick KEARNEY (CARNEY) living in Brooklyn, NY that my father used to visit in the early 1950's. I have not been able to find out the familial connection. My older cousins (now deceased) could not help me and of course, I never asked my father before he died in 1981 (I was busy raising my family at that point). Any help would be appreciated.
