    2. I have a subscription for Ancestry.com in the US. When I went to Ancestry Canada, I just put in my email address and put in my password (the same one I use for the US Ancestry) and I got right in and have been doing a lot of lookups ever since. Did you go directly to Ancestry Canada in its separate entity, or try through Ancestry.Com US? Nina Cobb

    2. You have to go to the Canadian Ancestry and then put in your email address and Ancestry password. You can't enter from the regular Ancestry sites. Don't be afraid when it says it is unsecure site, just go on in the site and then enter your email address and password. You will be safe. All Ancestry sites are. Nina Cobb

    2. If you belong to Ancestry.com in the US, you can just go straight into the Canadian Ancestry site by just entering your password after you enter your email address. It was simple and worked well for me. It may be your computer software that says it is an unsecure site. If you have good virus protection on the Internet you should be OK. 3. In recognition of Canada's Heritage Day, the Canadian site of The Generations Network (better known as Ancestry.com) is offering three days of free access to the company's World Deluxe collection. Please note that this is not the entire Ancestry.com service but it is a rather big piece of the non-U.S. records. The free access apparently is only available through the Canadian Ancestry.ca site. Available records include 352 million names and fully indexed 1851, 1901, 1906 and 1911 Censuses of Canada. You can access the site at: http://www.ancestry.ca Established in 1973 by the Heritage Canada Foundation, the holiday is observed on the third Monday of February, so this year that would be Feb 19th. 3. Hi Lori, Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, I ran out of time. I have now just returned from the doctor and this is what I have found........ I have only looked at Lancashire (Liverpool) for a WILLIAM MARTIN married to a MARY as follows... 1861 Census. RG 9/2654 Living at 112 Westmorland Place, Liverpool. WILLIAM ......33y.o .. Dk. Labourer ( assume a Dockyard Labourer) MARY............40 y.o ALICE...........12 y.o MARY ANN...9 y.o. JOHN.............6.y.o. WILLIAM........2 y.o They were not in the 1871 Census so perhaps they had imigrated by this and maybe they could be yours. Don't concern yourself with the ages being out by three years for the census were rounded out to the nearest five years. I found a William and a Mary in Carlisle, Cumbria but that is doubtful for they are about 230 km apart. Further, searching through Family Search ( LDS) for a marriage of William Martin to Mary I found the following... William Martin married to Mary Lowe 16 August, 1846 at Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire and a... William James Martin married Mary Ann Parker, 16 April 1843, at St.Nicholas Liverpool , Lancashire. I also found a William and a Mary in the 1851 Census living in Liverpool but William the son was only 4 years old making him born 1846, so that doesn't appear to be him. It looks to me that it could be Mary Lowe.?????? Perhaps if you place a posting on Rootsweb in the Lancashire section, some one may be able to look up the marriage and perhaps find if there is a William and a Mary where he is a Dock Labourer. Hope this helps and not too confusing to you, however, if you need any further assistance don't hesitate to ask.
